Bravo to you for not yelling about a broken vase. If you’ve ever read “Shepherding a Child’s Heart”, you’ll know that this is an example he uses for even biological children to show that when we yell over broken STUFF, we teach that STUFF is infinately valuable above self-control, loving others, etc.
So even if adoption and attachment weren’t a part of the equation, you would have had a victory.
God gave you an even sweeter victory with the attachment, though. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful to enjoy that moment of victory with your daughter! It is so true that progress happens in small increments, and then breakthrough moments like your jar incident. She is taking it all in! May you both know many more such moments!!
