What a great way to help us see God’s word to us in a new way. I like the New Living Translation of James 1:27 —
“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” I like the word “refusing” — like I’m putting my foot down and actively saying — “I will not be molded by this world and what it values but by the God who made it alone!” No matter what translation you use–the fact that God’s words link the care for orphans and widows and not being corrupted or polluted by the world is something that demands our attention. Thanks for pointing that out to readers here.
