The Sparrow Fund exists to care for caregivers, supporting adoptive parents who are committed to caring for children with hard starts as well as foster parents who stand in the gap for children for a season.
In June 2018, our team grew by one more—one with four furry feet—as we launched Project Puppy Love spearheaded by Kelly Raudenbush, MA. We have partnered with Paws & Affection, a nonprofit in the Philadelphia area that trains and places service, companion, and facility dogs, to start an attachment-based canine-assisted therapy program for foster and adoptive families with one of their expertly trained dogs.
Through Project Puppy Love, we are serving families in a new, innovative way as we invite children and their parents who find connection to be a challenge to safely connect with a dog and then expand those connection skills to better reach each other. We are thrilled to have Louie, a gentle giant, whose natural temperament and learned skills make him the perfect dog to do attachment-based canine-assisted therapy with Kelly Raudenbush, MA, cofounder and codirector of The Sparrow Fund, for children who have had hard starts and those who care for them.
In order to fund Project Puppy Love, we need to raise $2,000 annually to maintain and grow the impact of Project Puppy Love. Please consider giving to support Project Puppy Love to transform the lives of children and families.
